At Euroluce, the new IoT version of Jackie by Panzeri

The multi-awarded table lamp designed by Enzo Panzeri has stepped into the Internet of Things world.

At the 2017 edition of Euroluce, next to a number of new additions, Panzeri will present the new version of one of its best-selling creations. The Jackie table lamp enters the Smart Lighting world thanks to Otomo®, a system developed in collaboration with Eelectron, a company specialised in automation and building and environment evolution.

lampada da tavolo jackieThe lamp designed by Enzo Panzeri is the first object to interact with Otomo® (Optimized Office Automation), a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) network technology intended to provide reduced power consumption and office area control, by managing blind, light and heating system settings. The technology is based on the use of smartphones and mobile devices, connected to a cloud, to control other objects, such as Jackie.

Thanks to Bluetooth Low Energy communication and a series of integrated sensors, Panzeri’s lamp offers tangible advantages in light control and consumption. On desks and office tables, Jackie can assess temperature and brightness from the users’ best position to perceive the light. Therefore, the automatic management of light is mainly based on measuring its quality with end users’ comfort in mind.

But the new version of Jackie is not Panzeri’s only new creation. The introduction of BLE connection and DALI control system will be applied also to other products, to extend the Internet of Things family and improve lamps’ capacity to integrate with their environment. Meanwhile, the energy efficiency of lamps has sensibly been improved by updating to last generation LED. Light intensity has been improved (between +5% and +50%) on devices with the same power. Additionally, on request, in some lamps LED tones of colour can be set to 2,700 Kelvin.
